A solid white female cat named Josephine was mated with a seal point male. The kittens were characterized as being “limp” like a ragdoll when being held. This is how the name of the breed “ragdoll Cat” came into existence.

The original owner of the Ragdoll kittens claims that the DNA was genetically modified in her pregnant cat, which caused these kittens to look and behave like they do. The story is pretty wild!

One of the signature trademarks of the Ragdoll cat is its beautiful sky blue eyes. Some Ragdools, however can have different color eyes or variations.
